Class Notes 2/29

Today in class we covered section 7.5 which showed us that when solving a system of linear equations we can have three types of answers. We can have exactly one solution (intersecting lines), no solution (parallel lines), and many solutions (the two lines are the same).

After the notes we went over questions from the book pages 414 #31-35 and 429 #6-11, 30.

Homework due 3/2: page 415 #34,35 and page 429 #18,19,20.

Also one note, there will be a short quiz on Friday on what we have covered in Chapter 7.

Today's class was dedicated to trying out problems on our own/groups from the three sections that were introduced on Tuesday.

Class Notes 2/23

Today was a big day in Algebra AC. We covered three sections (7.1-7.3) where we started to learn how to solve systems on linear equations. These three sections taught us how to find the solutions to two different equations in two variables. We looked at graphs and found the intersection points and then we use the substitution method and the linear combination method in order to find the solution.

Homework due 2/25: Handout #5-8 on page 2, and then #2, 3, 5, 8 on the third page.

Class Notes 2/10

Today in class the students took their quiz on graphing linear inequalities.
There is no homework for Friday, because Friday is Winter Carnival Day.

Today in class we worked more on graphing linear inequalities. We also took a little peak into our next units systems of equations.

Today in class we worked more on solving linear inequality and what there graphs look like. We also started going over some word problems that will help model real-life situations.

Today in class we covered section 6.5 which showed us how to graph and solve linear inequalities. We got lots of practice with graphing linear equations and then shading the sides of the plane that make each inequality true.
