Class Notes 2/27

Today in class we started our coverage of Chapter 9, Quadratic Equations and Functions.
Today we focused on the square function (inverse operation of squaring) and saw some examples of how the square root works.

Today in class we went over the exponent review packet from Tuesdays class, took our exponents quiz.

No Homework over break.

Class Notes 2/8

Today in class we covered section 8-3 which covered division of exponents. We looked at numerous examples of how dividing exponents works. After going over some examples as a class we then worked in smaller groups on some problems which were then presented on the board by each group.

Today in class we worked with our new groups covering more operations with exponents.

Class Notes 2/1

Today we continued our coverage of exponents. We reviewed what we learned from last week. The multiplication properties of exponents and moved onto section 8-2 (zero and negative exponents).

In section 8-2, we learn that numbers raised to a negative exponent is actually the reciprocal.
