Homework for 8th graders Due Tuesday 4/19: read section 10.1-10.3. Along with the reading do 15 problems from the adding/subtracting polynomial handout.

Today in class we covered section 10.1. Which dealt with adding and subtracting polynomials.


Homework due Thursday: 20 of 30 problems from the handout.

Class Notes 4/8

Today the students took their quiz on the quadratic formula and the discriminant.

Because the 8th graders were still out the rest of the class period was given as some down time to the 7th graders who have been working extremely hard the past few weeks.

Homework: Read sections 10.1 and 10.2 and list three things overall from the two sections that you took away from the reading.

Today in class we covered section 9.6, which covered the Discriminant. When finding the value of the discriminant we learn a few things about our quadratic equation, for instance we find the value of the discriminant we know how many solutions our quadratic equation will have.

Homework : Quiz on the quadratic formula and the discriminant on Friday.

Today in class we worked on section 9.5, The Quadratic Formula. The class learned that the quadratic formula can help you solve any quadratic equations.
